Run like crazy run like hell - a graphic novel review

Run like crazy run like hell was published in 2012 and is a graphic novel by Tardi. The original story is by Manchette who wrote it for a novel in 1973. It’s about a woman and a child on the run from murderers. The story has a quick tempo and is a nice read. Manchette’s wife came with the idea to let a murderer and a dead child flee through France. Tardi decided to let the child live and make the main character a woman.

The expressive black and white drawings of Tardi give the story a rawness and an extra dimension. This comic is an ode to the American roadmovies, film noirs and even westerns.
